About us

When you go to a place make sure you get the best out of it. Treat it with utmost respect and come back with pride, Cheers!!

There comes a point of time, while riding
when you begin to observe every single detail around you,
At that point, you are
No more on the road, you're a part of it!!

ORIGIN:

"That 3hour ride to Maddur from Bangalore!"

Here is the bare truth, 2009 I had bought a bike and didn't know how to ride it. Still had somehow managed to go off till Bidadi. Then Arvi & Arun said why go alone on weekends we can join you too! Hence on Nov 28th 2009 we just set off on Mysore road without any place in mind and ended up having coffee at Maddur. Latter we realized Maddur was treated as Riders Paradise, but we knew we  kinda fell into a totally different category!

After the crazy Mekedatu trip, i decided to document the trip experiences in a journal so that it would serve as a diary to read from years ahead. Hence the common platform - A blog. Then once we started receiving good feed backs that it helped people reach place, why not have a diary which would help the people at large. We covered places with the primary intention of meeting each other on regular basis, for those good friends who had constraints at home, there was another platform to meet - Laxmi Bar :P

So yes, the main intention of the club is not to travel to places, not climb mountains, not maintain physical fitness, not to blog, not to become famous but to have a platform that would help us meet often, so that we could remain in touch and see the crests and troughs of life together & finally not letting that explorer in you as a child die with age! Cheers fellas! :)

And oh yeah, "loaper" was the usual slang i used to use during that year, hence "theloapers". Thankfully had the sense of mind to keep just in the border, other words would have forced me to change the domain name again and again!

KREW:

"Once a monk, always a monk"

The single most important thing when you head out on these kind of ventures, apart from the basic essentials is having a good team. Good team of not necessarily like-minded people, but diverse people but like minded in certain areas. Diversification with a common area of interest is always a ticket to progress.
I cannot thank enough those who have been there for the club, trusted me with the blog and have excelled in their own fields and yet maintained a normal life. So cheers to all and without further delay, I introduce theloapers :

1. Deepak (Deefu)
The Ibex became a part of the club in 13th July 2012 for the 58th Chapter. And trust me, he changed the course of the club for good. He spear-headed the trekking expeditions we took around Bangalore. And brought the "hard-core" factor in our club. Even amidst his constant travelling job, he is making it a point to join the treks whenever possible and also plan big Himalayan treks annually. This club is nothin without you Deefu, Cheers brah!

2. Aravind (Arvi)
The White Knight is one of the founding members of the club. He pretty much taught us all how to ride a bike properly. The initial runs to Mekedatu, Maddur etc he been very crucial in leading the entire pack safely. After returning from Germany, we did pull off a kick-ass Kodachadri trek. He is one of the few guys who doesn't mind suffering a little for the entire team. Cheers brah!

3. Chethan (Zethu)
The Big Show of the team, joined the club on 7th August 2010 for the 16th Chapter. I still remember he had got his Suzuki Samurai for the trip. Hardcore and with super mental strength, this guy carved a different side to the club during the most important sustenance part. Pushing our boundaries and taking us to places where we could not have done it without him. He also played a very important role in nurturing my writing & blogging skills. One guy i can always look upto for advise on anything, Cheers brah!

4. Arun (Aaku Bhai)
Aaku Bhai is also one of the founding members of the club. He was one the main riders who played a very vital role during the formation of the club. Most of the trips he comes are rides. Vanivilas & Chitradurga ride with him has remained always special & one of the most cherished chapter of this club. Cheers brah!

5. Madhu (Duns)
Mr.Duns joined the club on 10th September 2010 for the 21st Chapter to Pearl Valley. Has been one the most dependable persons in my life. We have stuck by each other in crests & troughs of life more than any. His quiet nature and adjustable attitude has made him one our favorite guy to pick upon :P Cheers brah!

6. Ashok (Momz)
Momz, joined the club on 19th January 2010 for the 6th chapter. Has been a good friend since 2001 and when this guy joins for a trip, things just escalate. His wicked jokes cracks everybody's core. There were instances people falling off chairs, twisting ankles listening to this guy. Being short and sturdy, show him a mountain and he will ascent it, no sweat! Cheers brah!

7. Datta (Dattu)
Frisbee boy joined the club on 7th August 2010 for the 16th Chapter. And from that time on, he has been the smiling face of the club. Always jovial and happy, this endurance machine tackles difficult mountains as though it was a walk in the park. His witty jokes are something that always keeps the spirits high on these ventures. Cheers brah!

8. Manohar (Manu)
Manu joined the club 9th January 2010 for the 5th chapter. He is one of key elements during the toddler stage. He was another mentor to me during the days i was struggling to ride a bike. He was always a part of best classical rides we undertook between the 20th to 40th chapters.

9. Dileep (Koof/Baleno)
Koof joined the club on 28th August 2010 for the 19th chapter. Even though he was on and off trips, but he remained close to the club. After 2015 he became a very close friend as we sat always every weekend in the same bar haha! The trips he has joined are some incredible rides. Gandikota and Belum caves was is one of the most cherished trips of this club.

Ps:
Don't become traveler, who rides only to Coffee days etc., for a coffee (tastes like shit anyway if you ask me. Been there done that),
Be a person who knows that old man who stands by the high-way all day, holding a flask in his hand and gives you a coffee/tea, which by the way tastes much better. (True story)
